The infamous door from the 1997 Hollywood hit Titanic made waves, selling for a mind-boggling $718,750 at an auction.

This isn’t just any door, it’s the one that bore witness to Leonardo DiCaprio’s character, Jack, making the ultimate sacrifice in the icy North Atlantic, while Kate Winslet’s character, Rose, clung to life atop it.

James Cameron, the film’s director, finally put to bed the debate whether the door could have kept Jack and Kate afloat during the film’s 25th anniversary in 2022.

“We’ve done a scientific study to put this whole thing to rest once and for all,” Cameron declared, revealing that only one person could have survived on the door.

The auction also featured Marilyn Monroe’s on-screen dress, Jack Nicholson’s iconic axe from The Shining, an authentic Stormtrooper blaster from the original 1977 Star Wars film, and various Titanic artefacts, including the ship’s helm wheel and Rose’s distinctive dress.
